Those taking GWO training for the first time

  • GWO Basic Safety Training (BST4 / BST5)

    The Basic Safety Training course consists of five modules: First Aid, Manual Handling, Working at Heights, Fire Awareness, and Sea Survival. Through both classroom and practical training, participants learn about safety management in wind power facilities, basic evacuation and rescue procedures during emergencies, and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to proactively protect their own safety and health in various situations. The course is available in Japanese or English.

    • Working at Heights and Manual Handling are combined into a single module.
    • It is recommended that participants in the Working at Heights and Sea Survival modules weigh no more than 120kg. (Please contact us directly if you exceed this weight.)
    • The difference between BST4 and BST5 is the inclusion of Sea Survival (SS) in BST5.

    Curriculum Contents:

    • First Aid (FA): Basic first aid techniques.
    • Manual Handling (MH): Techniques for safe manual handling.
    • Working at Heights (WAH): Safety practices for working at heights.
    • Fire Awareness (FAW): Understanding fire hazards and safety measures.
    • Sea Survival (SS): Techniques for survival at sea. (Note: Not included in BST4)

  • GWO Advanced Rescue Training (ART)

    The Advanced Rescue Training Course is an advanced level of the Basic Safety Training Course and the Working at Heights module. Through both theoretical and practical training, participants learn rescue techniques using standard rescue equipment in wind power facilities. The course covers the knowledge and skills needed for rescues in confined spaces, and it is available in both Japanese and English.

    • It is recommended that participants in the Advanced Rescue Training Course weigh no more than 120kg. (Please contact us directly if you exceed this weight.)

    • Hub, Spinner and Inside Blade Rescue (HSIBR)
    • Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue (NTBR)

  • GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT)

    The GWO Basic Technical Training Course consists of five modules: Electrical, Mechanical, Bolt Tightening, Hydraulic, and Installation. This course provides participants with essential training in electrical, mechanical, bolt tightening, hydraulic, and installation work, establishing a knowledge and technical foundation that enables companies to conduct site-specific training tailored to their operational needs.

    • Bolt Tightening (BTT-B)
    • Hydraulics (BTT-H)

  • GWO Enhanced First Aid Training course (EFA)

    The Enhanced First Aid Training Course is an advanced training extension of the Basic Safety Training First Aid Module. Through classroom and practical training, you can acquire the knowledge and skills in Japanese or English to provide continuous medical assistance to sick or injured persons at wind power facilities, until professional emergency medical services arrive.

    • EFA-R (refresher course) is available upon request. Please contact us directly.

    Curriculum Contents:

    • Risk, hazards, and legislation
    • Anatomy and physiology
    • Management of an incident (Emergency Response)
    • Lifesaving and enhanced first aid using primary & secondary survey
    • Pain management and further possible medication
    • Enhanced first aid exercises (scenario-based training)

Refresher Course (for those renewing their GWO training)

This is a certification renewal course for those who have already taken the above course.
First-time participants cannot take this course.

  • GWO Basic Safety Training - Refresher course (BST-R)

    This course is designed for those who have already completed the BST course and need to renew their certification. It is not available for first-time participants.
    You can take the renewal course in Japanese or English starting two months before the expiration date of your current certification. (In this case, your certification will be extended for two years from the original expiration date.)

    • If you take the course more than two months before the expiration date, the certification period will be two years from the completion date of this training. Please note that if your certification has expired, you cannot take this renewal course. (In this case, you must take the regular BST course.)
    • The Working at Heights and Manual Handling modules are combined into one training module.
    • Participants in the Working at Heights and Sea Survival modules should ideally weigh no more than 120 kg. (Please contact us directly if you exceed this weight.)
    • The difference between BST4-R and BST5-R is the inclusion of the Sea Survival (SS) module.
