About the Center

GWO 外観

The Giraffe Work Training Centre is a GWO-accredited training centre opened in Ogimachi, Kawasaki in June 2024 in partnership with Maersk Training, a leading provider of training for wind turbine maintenance technicians.

With the capacity to accommodate 1,500 people per year, the facility offers training in a range of courses required for wind turbine maintenance technicians in Japanese and English, in a global standard environment and facilities. In addition to the standard Basic Safety Training 4 (BST4) and BST5, you can also receive Advanced Rescue Training (ART), Advanced First Aid (EFA), and Basic Technical Training (BTT), making it possible to obtain all the necessary qualifications for wind power generation maintenance in one place.

GWTC Mission

In Japan, there is a shortage of technicians related to offshore wind power projects (such as construction and maintenance). To work in the offshore wind power industry, completing the GWO (Global Wind Organization) Basic Safety Training is essential.

Currently, there are no GWO-certified safety training facilities in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and offshore wind power workers have to travel across the country to receive training.

To address this, we are established one of the largest GWO-certified facilities in Japan in the highly accessible Tokyo metropolitan area (Kawasaki City) to foster talent related to offshore wind power.

    GiraffeWork handles regular maintenance of wind power plants, including major wind turbine components, replacements, dismantling work, and the transportation of wind turbine parts. Additionally, we manage the dismantling of aging wind power plants, as well as collaborate to develop and sell our own specialized work platform, "GiraffeWork”.
